Great sharpness and colors contrast Harry... nice exposure... i hate white clothes... ;) About composition: IMHo would be better with a little more space in the bottom and without the "red balls" in the right... maybe a little ditracting... Beautiful execution. It's not easy to capture this kind of object in very good dynamical diagonal composition like this. Good handle of Nikon F5 and your 500mm lens, I think it really help to capture this moment with correct focusing while maintaining shallow DOF. Very well done!

Another gate skating shot... technically well executed, and a very dynamic pose of Sondral. The returning red and blue colours make it also very pleasing to look at.
I appreciate your technical skills even more after last weekend, when I visited the Dutch skating championships. I faced all the problems a sports photographer has to deal with: conquering a good viewpoint (the best positions were already occupied by TV and press, and the second best by fellow amateurs), anticipating the skaters moves, quick manual focussing (the AF of my camera was not fast enough). I also understand your preference for outdoor tracks - I had to use 800 ISO film (and flash!) Still curious about the results, though...

Love the position of the subject in the frame. The colour balance between the skaters suit, shoes and the background signs make for a powerful image. I would like to see a 2 meter print of this one. Happy Christmas Harry. regards John
