You have so many excellent photos of the west. this one is just amazing. I like how you have cropped the tree and used the roots as a tool to create an entrance to the distant panorama. I must say that the last time I went to these areas it was in the winter too. It was the best time to go as far as I could tell...no other people...But it was cold for camping. At Canyon De Shelly I camped in a tent in the snow and the temp went down to -17 degrees. Good thing I had a good sleeping bag. the photos that morning were just great and made it worth it for sure. I wanted to thank you for your offer with your images. You are very generous, I don't take an offer like that lightly. But I only paint from my photos because I can relate to the experience on a much deeper level then. Which I feel reflects in the finished work. When I come down to that area of the world again I'll let you know. Could be soon as I need a road trip in the near future. Winter sounds like a good time to go down there again!
Warm regards, Tim

Nope - not MY tree, this one must be yours! Adding the snow by visiting in winter adds something really nice. I like the glow on the foreground. Great job and girl have you been busy lately! John

The lighting on this is really nice in the foreground. The bright highlights on the left horizon are a little distracting to the eye. People's eyes tend to go straight for those bright spots. Perhaps darkening that area via photoshop would help. Great view!
