Nice capture! It seems that the subject was pretty sharp on your photo but the scanning is really bad. Anyway, I like the darkness around the flower's center. About the insect, I've seen these; they are kind of hoppers but I don't know what they are called. Cheers.

Beautiful macro, very microscopic insect!
... About my picture... I don't know what was the ispiration, I like colored details in B&W images and playing with PSP I saw it could be a good idea... :-)
