Ahaa.. My first one, shot with a very little digital camera (also my first one).
Strange, got another comment on this one the same day as your comment, and today again!
After so many months of silence, so I guess it was a good choice. Maybe I should do some more ;)

It was taken with a small digital (my first) camera and some photoshop tweaking ;)
I like your idea about a pre battlefield (kind of waitng for Napoleon)
It was a very moody/misty morning somewhere along the way to the office (by bike.)
Took a lot of photo's that morning, so I wasn't in time on my work (sometimes you have to choose ;-)))
Appreciate you took the time to visit my website !

Hi John, Guess I missed this one....:) Quite unusual shot, coming from you, but a very nice one... Maybe a tad grainy, but that fits with the warm light and softness of the misty scene. Very interesting venture out of your usual work!

you have a wonderful portfolio here john and although I am immensely taken by your other photos with the wonderful details of objects and architecture, with the vivid colours and the geometric compositions of absolute forms, this very first photo you are uploading here is incredibly touching.
it strikes me as a field of war where the battle has not yet started. the orange mist is magnificent and the "z" composition (it looks like a z, with the fence being the diagonal line of the letter) is very appealing.
I like it very much john :-)
I also liked your site beautiful sydney opera photos.
I'll be visiting more of your work...
