Kim, it makes a good statement. I just feel it needs a little less exposure.

i agree, keep the weed- helps the picture stand out from all the other more conventional flower pictures.

Guess I'll add my two cents on the weed debate: I definitely like it "with." It makes the flower look surrounded, which supports the effect you were after. Makes the composition a little more interesting, too.

Weeds or no weeds...I like this one! I thought it might have been taken by a Lomo camera at first. My Lomo loves the color blue and often gives me a sky like this on a clear day. Nice job and extra credit for lying in an ant hill! LOL Jane

Hi Kim, I like it better without the weed as well. (I think we've all got too many weeds in our lives as it is, one less will not hurt) I need to get some photoshop instruction. I have no idea how to remove weeds like that...you cannot even see a trace of it. I am still living in the 80s I guess.

Here you go Russell... I went back via Photoshop and took another picture *grin*! I'm not sure which I like better... kinda partial to the flower admid the weeds and such.
Nathan thanks for the comment and I think this scan is a little soft on here... thanks for the comment on the title!

Kim,
Can you go back out to that ant hill and retake the shot without that piece of straw sticking up? Just Kidding! I really like the blues in this one.

Love the title of this shot, very apt. I'm a huge fan of yellow blue contrasts, so mad points for that. Is the scan a wee bit soft, or is that my monitor?
