What I have appreciated, by visiting Sainte Sophie, is that during the period when it was a mosque, icons and magnificent religious pictures and mosaics of the Christian period were not destroyed or erased, but simply covered with a coat of plaster, one rediscovers them now.... A lesson of tolerance and respect for the culture ....:-)

Wow, Hayri, you let me always dream.
I can't forget my trip in Instanbul and this church-Mosque is something unique. A perfect equilibry and colours, with the sky, flowers and the rose of the building.
