About The Government can spend 1 Billion $$'s A WEEK for a war about oil, big business contracts, and control(but please don't count the dead-doesn't look good) yet...it has no money left for it's children's schools,it's citizen's health care (america is ranked 36th by the W.H.O. in Health Care quality - but #1 in H.C. spending). Violence and the Gun still rule and if you're beautiful you can be turned into a Super Star overnight!(no talent required). What a country!!!

Ah, and I do agree that the image is a little bit crowded. Less would be more, I think.

Yes, Mark, but who decides what's beautiful? That to me is even more annoying. Someone somewhere makes a decision about these things and everybody all over the world instantly agrees. And the ones who don't can ### off. Interesting image, I'd like to see more of it, though. Even the large version here is quite small.

Dear Hakan, always wanting to help out a fellow photographer/artisi I'll fill you in. I got mine at "Lampchicks-R-Us" in an L.A. mall called "the Happy Sunshine Center"(You may have seen it in the news. They had a guy go a little crazy last month with an AK47 and a 9mm-he was mad at his girlfriend for spending too much time with her friends.I don't know the full story exactly so I'm not gonna make a judgement call(a few people got hurt-no deaths thank God)Anyway,if you know the area it's across from the kinda new IKEA and next to "Wal-mart" and "Home Depot".(that's also that mall that's famous for having 5 Mcdonalds less than 1/2 a mile(about 1 kilometer)from each other). The Lamp is really easy to take care of.Just a little water everyday and a bit of popcorn (or chips)once in a while.Only thing you have to watch is that the bulbs don't burn the lamp's outer skin-besides that,no problem (it's funny, my dogs are always barking at it-they can't figure it out. That's dogs for you-great fun to watch)Hope that helped,I THINK they MIGHT have a web sight-not sure)I must say,it is a cool lamp.Have been very happy with it.Take Care

or in other words .. use your talent as a phtographer to say what you feel .. and maybe not so many words ... you're obviously gifted in looking at your portfolio .. so use that gift along with wisely chosen words ... .. that why i say "let your words be few" ... use the the example of your images and your life .. it is more powerful ... i did not mean "do not speak up" or "keep it all in" ... i do not believe in that .. not at all .. i seem to carry many of the same frustrations that you do ... we're probably more of the same mind than you may think ... anyway ... again best regards to you ... js

Mark, ... maybe i should have stated my thoughts in a different way and simply said, this may not the place for this ... and then further told you what I thought about your photo in an honest fashion and I mean honest .. which is: that for a studio shot it's hurried and not so well thought out, especially for making a solid thought provoking image .. color is a little weak - overall yellow/redish and dull, lens choice is too long in my thinking ... basically it has little impact and could have been better with strong bright light and contrast and maybe a real wide lens almost inches away from the flag for greater more powerful impact .. even if i did not agree with your view I would have had far more respect for a better done image and in turn felt you were not really convincing ...and i really honestly mean what i am saying and it's NOT out of anger or revenge .. it's the truth and it's honest ... i also take back what i said about you not living here, i misunderstood you when you said that you were going back to France - your "Paris Apt" - i thought that meant you lived there .. i was wrong and i am sorry ... i do not take back my opinion of your image though ... i do welcome a conversation on the phone if you like .. write me via my website and well do that if you like ... it would be better than this, you may find me far different than you think today (and i you) ... best regards to you .. john strazza

This is a great photograph in its own way. very inspirational and creative expressing the author`s mood. a photograph with a message too. a good message. not only for America but for all the world. But please we have to stay in the artistic path. not political one. I hate politicsssssssssss! In the artistic way it is a photograph with powerful symbolic message. and for that it is perfect. S.T.O.P. Make love not war comments. ha ha..
Dear Mark, I just love your fighting side. SO fight and NEVER GIVE UP! I am with you my dear Friend. I am with you in every way. and I am supporting you. Je suis pour Mark.
I love you my Friend, I am so sorry that you can not change the world to better, but at leaset you are trying, as many of us are not! Keep up the good work, my dear and dont pay attention on others comments. But please NO POLITICs HEREEEEEEEEEE!
Kisses and Love,
Your Friend, Biliana

hi Mark - never said i wasn't a fan :) by commenting the way i did i'm also open to scrutiny about how i percieve America - i think you absolutely right in speaking out if you feel there's something to be said - if no one "got it" they never will - you've had 71 views and only 2 negative comments in regard to your message - if someone out there refuses to open their eyes at least maybe they're forced to think for a split second after seeing your picture - i came originaly to comment on how i like you photo - this is your parade and i won't rain on it - all the best - robin

ps. i'm niether american or living there - but makes me think of a tune - what would the world be like without America...?

wow.......contrivesial..but spelt correct, anyway, sound like the whole world over, certainly here in th enchanted forest its the same, the man in the faraway tree bulds huge things with the peoples money.....useless things.....things no one wants......while hospitals and schools are begging fo charity......anyway, pictures cool, like the justice looking woman, and the kid looks like a mini me jason.....i would change the title though to 'The way'.......paris is cool though!! at least u can escape and eat slugs and stuff......happy sunday!

i really like your photo - don't know whether this site should be a platform for political belief - and i think the photo should speak for itself - especially with your title being so self explanatory - have to roll with John here.. que sara sara

hmmm i have to wonder who it is your speaking too then ... i am an American ... i have frustrations too about Americam policies and the policies of many other nations as well .. yes i have frustrations about our schools and health care - great frustration and probably greater than your because i live here .. i wonder many times where the money is .. but you are not talking to goverment people here you are talking to every day people .. down to earth people ... of whom i am one .. and i can certainly say as an American i don't need to hear a single word you have to say .. because it's nothing new and it helps in little or no way at all ... let those who live American frustrations year after year speak of them .. it will carry well more weight ... it's easy to packageyour beliefes into one simple statment on how we are this or that ... but it so much more complex ... so much bigger .. it's writen to "let your words be few" it's also written that "even a fool is considered wise who can hold his tongue"

The picture is original and very well done.
To the about: no comment from this viewer. She loves America too much to give an unbiassed opinion.

I think you're trying to say so much in one photograph, that nothing in particular is being communicated clearly. Even with your explanation, the combination of elements in the composition is just confusing. It seems to me that each figure could be a photograph unto themselves. Grouped together (especially w/ odd details such as the christmas lights & the tambourine), it looks like the photograph was just taken for the sake of being weird. The only visual metaphor that's working is the body, blood & money, and even then, it's a bit cliché. I would suggest focusing on just one of the issues you mentioned in your explanation - and with your technical abilities, I'm sure you could make a wonderful photo.
