Karen:

i don't know where to put this comment so i leave it here, under one of your shots

"Would love to know how you created it? What steps are involved in post capture?"
- i took it in very strong sunlight in his face, with white balance set to +3, then i made it Black and White in PhotoShop and adjustet contrast +10. That's all...

"Welcome to usefilm and I would say youre doing pretty good with "your crappy camera"" - i'm doing my best... it can take some good shots but it's very old and have problems with focus, it has very low resolution (1280x1024 maximally) and within few funcions it's automatic.

thanks

pozdrawiam

Karen; you do such soft beautiful informal portraits, and this is no exception. It's easy to see that you have a very loving relationship with your daughter. Nice work.

Wow, Karen, have you ever been busy in my absence!!
This is delightful! And a great use of diagonal composition. An image to be proud of!
Well done
Kind regards, Chris.
P.S. We've been away for a long weekend's break and it turned out to be very productive photo-wise!! Thanks for your comments on the lily pads.

Beautiful portrait Karen. You and Peta are lucky you have such willing models! lol
People run from me....I love the skin tone,,I find natural lighting is the best.
Fabric and pose are just lovely. She will love these when she is older. Maybe a professional model in the making. As far as keeping notes.....I can't imagine how!!
My latest creation started out as a sunflower. I have no idea how I ended up with a creature butterfly! lol

To Don - this is a natural light portrait using only window light from a large window. I do use studio lights but the last 3 posts have all been naturally lit.

To Peta, I have done the same thing. I tried to recreate an effect the other day and dont remember half of what I did or in what order; so add me in with you and Elizabeth.

Wonderful shot. The treatment of the fabric is perfect, and the tones are very real (not over or undersaturated). I think this may be your best portrait to date! The cropping on the bottom might be a bit close, simply because that silk background wants more room to flow and nestle the subject, but that's just me trying to come up with any way that might possibly make it even better, even though it doesn't need it. Very well done! I'm going to have to go back to the drawing board for my own portraits since you've really raised the bar on this one.

You can tell she's like my Brooke, just at ease in front of Mom's camera. Great lighting Karen, the fabric is perfect. She's such a little doll. :)

You asked for help! If I can, and do I recall what I did ?! Only sorta, no notes! AND I promised myself I would.

Wow, have you got your own personal professional model. She is beautiful. The lighting is so nice and you have your exposure just right. No hot spots. Is your lighting done with strobes?? Great skin tones and the presentation is also very nice and tasteful. Don.
