This buggers are hard to photograph. I did several roles on a white one and a pink one that my uncle had. The worst thing is they bloom infrequently and for such a short amount of time, you either get it or you don't.

I would like to see this same blossom against a different background...perhaps a muted green, similar to the green in the stem. It would provide a contrast for the white petals without overwhelming the image. To my eyes, the nice blossom is diminished by the whitish background. Otherwise I like the angle in your composition, and look forward to more images with your new camera, you lucky dog!

congrats on the new camera - I didnt notice that. Have lots of fun experimenting - digital is alot of fun and has really eccelerated my learning in the past few months, even though I am venturing back to film now and then.
the edges are quite sharp already on this image, just a little more in the central part of the flower. :)

Thanks Dawna, It's a new camera and I don't yet know all the ins and outs. I had the same self criticism, but let it go because I liked the quality of the light and the translucence of the petals. Though, as you say, those would still be there if there was less softness to the photo. Thanks again.

interesting flower Carl, I like this, but just a little sharper focus would make it outstanding in my opinion. perfect flower to experiment on, as it is unique. great composition...
