Cool! This IR effect is beautiful, and I just love the soft water in foreground from the slow shutter. It is water isn't it? Looks more like melted gold or something! Beautiful mill too, and the whole composition with all ingredients is just superb!

terry, excellent contrasts of color and texture. black smooth sky, silky irridesent water, tack sharp rocks, glowing trees, mottles of light. beautiful composition! excellent IR subject and very well executed. i assume it's hanging on your wall? it'll definitely hang on my favorites page.

take care,
tom

I've just looked through your portfolio and you are very gifted. I loved the pinhole dreams, but this one keeps demanding my attention even more. I want to try infrared, but have yet to get around to it. Truly amazing shots. I'll be adding you to my list to keep up with, as I'm on sporadically, usually very late at night after work. My sincere compliments to you.

Great infrared shot. The paranormal viewpoint on a somewhat normal subject works excellently. The smooth water from the extremely long exposure is also a nice touch. I would use a slightly smaller exposure next time because you got slight blur in the trees which I do not find to be particularly aesthetically pleasing, but others might!

Thanks for the comment in my album. Your stuff is exceptional. Wow!! Excellent Infrared images. I haven't shot IR in 25 years. You make me want to experiment again. Gotta do it the "old fashion way" with my 35mm. Interesting how digital has adapted to all the special efx of yester-years older model cameras! Nice work!!!! Bella

larry terry   {K:1965} 8/16/2003
very neat shot, but i don't know what it is but it looks like the sky has been burned in or the trees have been heavily dodged, i could be wrong but the top looks kind of strange

I like this! I am usually not a fan of IR shots, they tend to always be the same subjects. I like the effect of the IR on this subject, giving it a rather "ghostly" appeal. Thank you for you comment.

This is such an interesting work. It looks as thoug you've incorporated different components to make this. The gravel bar in the foreground & the rock pile just above it are crystal clear & the stream in between nice & whispy. I like this image.

Magical little shot - the foreground water is wonderful the silver picks up the silver in the trees and the darkness picks up the darkness in the sky - lovely comp too darkness to the left lightness to the right.

A nice choice for IR, the detail is stunning, I like the contrast of sharp and milky that the water and stones have, best regards - Richard.

Terry, I find this to be an extraordinary image, augmented by the infrared. My only nit is with regard to the sky. I wonder if the sky has been tweaked in the digital darkroom to appear even darker than it would have. I ask because my eyes seem to register a change where the sky meets the trees -- for instance, the bit of sky we see behind the branches is not as dark as the open sky. The water, on the other hand, is wondrous and amazing. Terrific work.

Chris Mason   {K:238} 7/20/2003
Wonderful pic. I haven't tried I/R filters yet either, but will do so very soon. The shutter speed and water just add to the shot. Great work.

SarahM none   {K:7836} 7/20/2003
This is a great shot. My eyes had a bit of a time trying to decide if the sky above the trees and to the left was the sky or a leaf that was "framing the photo" only because it is so dark. I have not used an infrared filter, but this certainly makes me want to try one! Super job!
