BTW: after seeing the rest of your portfolio, and looking at your credits, I am wondering why I even dare to comment on anything created by yuo... I am not worthy... (bowing)

I really love this picture, I think it is just great. The girl comes out in a great way, easy to fall in love with her, since she is pictured here in such a nice way. I do agree about the twinkle in her eyes, and the bright lower part. But after reading your comment to that, I agree totally that a less technically perfect picture can be a better picture for the subject and others (feeling-wise).

I think this is an excellent portrait. The only thing that I think is missing is a little sparkle in her eyes. I have often noticed that nationalities with darker skin colors also tend to have darker whites of the eyes. Very hard to bring out unless you want to work it over in photoshop. Always an option. But barring that minor detail, this photo is great. Ray

I wanted to keep the whites white without blowing out the color--hence the face appears a little darker but for her skin coloring it is fairly accurate--more so in the original print than the scan. One of the largest complaints clients have is cutting off the hands--so it would either be a head shot, which would lose the whole umbrella concept--or if I shot it any looser, the umbrella would no longer frame and dominate the photo. Also, people from different cultures (as well as different people period) sit differently, stand differently and project themselves differently. Often, the modification of a person's natural body language makes them 'look' posed to someone who knows them and something that looks awkward (like the girl in green's hands the other day) to us makes them look totally natural and unique in themselves to the people they are close to. As you can tell from my previous comments, I'm not a great believer in everything having to be too perfect. Constructive comment that helps you as an artist 'see' a different perspective or expand on your own idea, make us better artists and perpare us for the 'next' opportunity.

I think it is a nice portrait the way it is. It is so that the bottom is the brightest and it may attract some attention.

Personally, I would prefer a slightly brighter image and I would crop the bottom of the picture. How about you?
