Wonder how I missed commenting on this.
VERY nice, and somewhat provocative with
a real cool attitude. Thanks for sharing.
Great colors!

David

Another good one Karen.....her hat bothers me a bit....it's a bit
too pulled down on the head for my taste, maybe if you had a bit
more light coming from the from the right front bottom going upward giving her more light on her eyes.....over all a good portrait showing lots of cute attitude. Good Job.

This is beautiful. The lighting with the touch of backlight is great. Your colors and exposure are right on.

I commented on the other portrait. Another way to darken the arms would be to scrim the light from that area or put a vignette on the camera lens. This is easy to do. Don.

Karen - This is my favorite. Excellent lighting. The model (your daughter????) does such a great job. She looks so relaxed and so happy to be in front of the camera. That can make or break a photo. You can have all the technical aspects down pat, but if your model doesn't look relaxed, you've got a bad photo. This is just great.

Now to the technical. I don't have a problem with the lighting, particularly the shadow, as has been pointed out. I think you can see the eyes well enough that the shadow really does not distract my eye at all. I like the extra headroom, I think giving extra space on different sides in some situations helps to add a more relaxed feel to an image as it does here. I think there is a lot of attitude in this photo and it's carried out very well....LOVE IT!

I tend to agree with the comment in regards to the hat, its the first thing I noticed and I love to see eyes it is really what makes or breaks a shot of this kind to me. The pose is great and you can feel her attitude. Another thing that bothers me is the inconsistent light, I see a lot of shadows that are a bit distracting. A great portrait regardless Karen.

I like the pose and although the space does seem a little large above the head it does fit OK, the old addage for portraits is have one or both eyes on a diagonal and this fits the bill. The bg lighting is very good but watch out for spill on the subject. The hat has presented a small problem but if you can reduce the shadow a little with PS it will be OK. Nice photographe with attitude - Richard.

This again, is a good portrait, but doesn't have the same feel as BLUE. The shadow on her head from the hat is one thing that I find distracting here. There also seems to be a little extra headroom in this shot... perhaps shave a bit off the top?
Still, better than I could do by a long shot!!!!
