About Don Garlits(AKA "Big Daddy")is a nationally known person that has a long history of racing Top Fuel Dragsters. In my early years of photography, I worked as a freelance photographer at many of the drag strips in Southern California. I was able to combine these two hobbies to enjoy the privilege - free entrance to the races and track side access to shoot photos. I was able to sell enough photos to pay my expenses and buy dark room and additional camera equipment. This photo was shot in 1972 and was recently scanned from a slide.
