About This is a mother sea otter with her baby. They will float in the water all their lives and rarely come onto the sand and rocks. She will deliver and nurse the baby while it is laying on her stomach. They have such high density of hair that they float like a sponge. Mom will leave the baby floating on the surface while she dives for muscles. As the baby gets bigger, she will share the meat of the clams with the baby and teach it how to dive, find food, and open it with a rock.
