About
This is a view of the fire box and heat exchange tubes of the steam engine I posted a couple of months ago. This engine is set up to burn oil that is injected into the fire box. The heat and combustion exhaust pass through the tubes out to the smoke stack. As the heat/exhaust pass through the tubes, the water that surrounds the tubes heats and makes steam. This steam is what drives the power cylinders. This photo was shot in a tight confined space with many people going in and out of the engine cab. Sorry for the slight blur from being hand held.
