Michael you have some great shots in your portfolio. This one is terrific a few filters no doubt, works really well. Looks like the G5 would be a good buy I don't know if it would be as good as your D100 but it would certainly compliment it. From what I have read the new Nikon 5400 is a bit of a dog.. I am totally new with photography so I hope to learn from sites like this...regards roger

Don;t usually take a look at flower shots. But this one has a powerful artism to it even from the thumbnail. I like the apparent vignetting setting a background to it from a simple sky. The way the light falls through the petal is quite beautiful. It is a bit too centred, I would push it to the right, leaving plenty of space on the left, and maybe clone out that bush in the corner.

Even if I don't find particularly original the flower macro-shots in general, this one has immediatly captured my attention especially for the very nice composition and - over all - the great light effect coming from the sky and going through the flower. It would be interesting also to try very close macro shots with artificial and coloured light from the back. Anyway, interesting work that gives me new ideas for future experimental shots. Regards, Cristiano.
