First time using B&W film. Other b&w photos were converted from color. Decided to shoot a self-portrait (although I HATE being in photos). Since shooting myself, I found nearby tree and focused on spot about nose level, then repositioned camera so nearest background object was a good 60 feet behind where I would stand (to insure background is blurred even at f/8). Used timer and positioned myself approximately same dist as tree was when setting focus. Photo is not bad, but is kinda dark (my face should be what arms are, and arms even lighter); I still hate to be in photos...this is my first and only self one. hahaha (now I see why all my friends say I am like a teddy bear, but I'm working on the tummy hahahahaha).
Flash: Nikon SB-28. Shutter: 1/60 sec. Aperture: f/8. Focal Length: 50mm (but seems to be too wide-angle as distorts arms and tummy even more). Filter: Tiffen Green #11. Photoshop: used to crop and frame only. Shot in Aperture mode, Matrix metering, on tripod.
Warm and emotional portrait! Maybe you should take more selfportraits, you are really wonderful model :) Like Luisa says, here interesting mix of strength and sweetness.
oh, you are a very interesting photo subject; here there is a mix of strength and sweetness, but most of all the eies of a photographer who observes reality with curiosity and wonder
