Let the camera do the work. BUT... have found the D5100 works best with good light. IF you have a strong light source, you can shoot at 5200 or 6000 iso and the camera will respond. With a weak light... better get a tripod.
Hi Jim, Grest stop action photo. Your POV, cropping, and sharpness of focus makes for great viewing. I also use a Nikon D5100. I've had it for about 2 years now and am still learning how to use many of its capabilities. I'm still trying to learn how to get the sharp, life likeness in my photos like you have in this photo.
Excellent capture with great show of speed without blur! The whip up and the mud flying. Also love the slightly older film look with the tad bit of muted colors. Very well done!
