hm..there are to many stories on this photo and I am not sure where to look.
IMHO the left dog is something that I would not include in photo. So if you could only see the dog (withoth tail) and little girl it would be interesting..
..but I am sure that you can do much much bether.

fantastic composition Doc. Why are so confused :P I am not atleast for this shot :)
The tail is not distracting me atleast. But if the photographer wants to clone it out I have no objection in that either...
I liked it very much. As you said...its a MOMENT, so I am very satisfied with the spontaniety of this moment :)

Common jd, you catch ed the candid moment and all this "mess" in this composition I would never crop or clone, you said "a moment" and it is fine as it is, authentic and almost alive for us, viewers :-)
Take care and do not think sooooooooo much ;-)))
Your composition is so very interesting as I said and so full of life and true emotions ... all are on the right places with right "pieces" at the right moment :-) imho !

well, to be honest I'm not sure: for some people it's fine like you and Avi, for others like Gabri composition is poor; I'm in the middle :))
as i said in my about, not sure about dog's tail, I think it can be distractive; even less sure about the donkey on the left; although I think I catched a candid moment of this family leaving at 3.500 meters high, feel that composition is a bit unbalanced; one option could be crop the donkey, half of the dog and leave just its head, boy and mother in a portrait format
just some thoughs

bravo, en realidad es una foto trampa para ver si mis amigos reales me critican o sólo me dicen palabras vacías
veo que tu eres de los primeros :)))
en realidad estoy bromeando; yo mismo no estoy muy contento con la composición y la subí al foro para conocer vuestra opinión, pero como muchas veces hay división en los comentarios: that's life :)

Amazing moment you managed to capture jd ... so very interesting composition with great, great, great spontaneity, lovely emotions, beautiful moment indeed and I would not clone it out ... it would be like you cut ted of a very significant part of this lovely image full of emotions and friendship.
Child's expression and behaviour is priceless !

Eh.... por fin yo puedo hacer lo que me pides... criticarte:)
Además del impacto emocional que es parte intrínseca de todas tus obras, la composición no me gusta ......
En mi opinión,la extraña figura de la izquierda debe desaparecer por completo y me molesta la fuerte sombra que corta el cuerpo del perro....
Pero la emoción existe..... siempre..

sí la verdad es que yo no acabo de estar contento: hay demasiados elementos, no sabía si quitar el burro y clonar la cola del perro: al final tras pensarlo mucho lo deje todo como una estampa de la vida cotidiana del altiplano Argentino; pero tu opinión no hace más que reforzar mi sensación de insatisfacción
