Ahaha.. tui je amar boroi priyo alochyo proshongo utthapon korli. Ami Tintin shudhu portam i na, ekebare gule kheyechhi (in fact shudhu Tintin na, Tintin, Asterix, Phantom, Mandrake ityadi ar ja ja chhilo) .. goto bochhor amar bou-er jonmodine ami oke Adventures of Tintin er complete collection set ta upohaar diyechhi. otoeb bujhtei parchhish .. :):):)

Anyway, coming back to the very interesting question you asked. Dekh, amar eirokom mone hoy:

Photography (like painting/sculpture) is primarily a VISUAL art. Hence, chokhe dekhe kharap lage erokom kichhu ke sref totwo diye bhalo promaan kora jaay na. At least not in the long term. Tai, visually appealing howa ta khub-i joruri. A drawing or a photograph with many elements almost always has a few flaws:

1. JUXTAPOSITION: (If you don't already know it, remember this term) the different elements need to be placed in such a way that they have a minimal overlap. THEN, each element enjoys it's full 'presence' in the composition, and the whole thing presents a peaceful harmony to the eye.

2. PLANES: Also, in the same breath, I want to mention that in a 'busy' composition, it is very essential to try and keep all the elements comparitively in the SAME PLANE. If there are too many planes (especially skew planes) where the eye has to wander, it is not very appealing visually. Now go back and think about that Tintin picture.

Yes, it satisfies both of the above.

Also, amar ekta chhobi-o udahoron shorup toke dekhate chai: http://www.usefilm.com/Image.asp?ID=1454632. I felt that this photo has achieved what I wanted to do ... to about 80%. Of course, the fact that the figure on the extreme left is not fully inside the frame, accounts for a 20% failure (in my eyes).

2. INTEREST: Even if we achieve juxtaposition, we have to see if ALL the elements we have included in the frame are INTERESTING enough. Again, think of that Tintin picture. The fact that you were SO MUCH drawn to it is because all the elements were essentially interesting in ther action or exclamation or just plain stupidity.

In light of the above, let's take a look at this current picture of yours.

1. Juxtaposition is not very good.. a lot of overlapping elements (electric meter behind the first guy's head.. stairs behind the second)
2. Planes also not well used. at least three strong skew planes that are not in harmony.
3. Apart from the dog (which really is the key for me in the composition) the other elements are not interesting enough (at least to me)
