Great an! Really good to ask them, and as we see it paid back! I am very glad for you, being invited for a second day there - it means that they did see the good work you did!
Though I can't really understand why they didn't allow you to have a flash, since most of the time the dancers just have to be able to perform well under a strom of flashlights.
But anyway, great, great, great! And I wish you many many more of your images on newspapers and magazine and whatever you dream of.
BTW, I might try that too. We don't have any kind of dancing group here, but I am very curious if I could get some good shots of the orchestra of Lucerne. I think they might also be... let's say, not so easy to convince for allowing me to shot some images when they have their rehearsals. But who knows.

Hi Nick... I thank you...
Actually I asked permission because they were in rehearsals... so I was somewhat restricted from moving around... and not allowed to use flash for fill... they liked what OI shot the first day and invited me back the 2nd day to shoot some images for the Portland newspaper article on them :)

Yep, quite perfect here! You got that great anaglyph of tension of muscles so well here, and the skin hues are also well caught. The presence of the trainer certainly adds much atmosphere to the image but still the dancer steals the show. The contrast against the background makes it even better!
BTW, Dan, did you have to ask for a permission for shooting some images there? Or can you just go there and make your shots?
