About The Bixby Bridge, completed in 1932, is a marvel of engineering and one of the top ten highest single span bridges in the world. The bridge spans across a large canyon along the Big Sur Coastline, about 18 miles south of Carmel.

The weather conditions can have a noticable impact on the bridge's appearance, whether there are clouds partially hiding it, or sun reflecting off of the gleaming white structural supports. That quality, combined with the massive appearance of the bridge, brings countless people to photograph the bridge.

Converted to b&w, added sepia tone.

Very nice! Great composition and a beautiful seascape. I have been there once and is one of my favorite places. Your portfolio is very good.

Fascinating Brigitte - and thank you for that wonderful description; they add an awful lot to a picture in my eyes - especially when there's an historical element.

Since this bridge is the subject of your composition here, I'd like to see more of it in your future treatment - eg a feel for why it's single-span is a monumental achievement for its period. In fact, personally I'd lose the sepia because its a bridge which, to this DAY is as fit for purpose as when it was first built!

Warmest regards,

Ant

Wonderful shot, I like the choice of colour tone in here because makes the picture very sentimental. Nice composition and very very calm atmpshere.
Best regards
Olga
