I like this the way it is Iv and think it far better to have a good pof and a selective dof so that that the patterning gradually emerges and then slowly fades away. Great shot sweetie, nothing wrong with this. Having it ALL in focus is some peoples' choice but not mine. Excellent dark background and rich tones of the fern look beautiful against it. Changes of DOF from the foreground and getting sharper as it goes up, is another interesting idea and something unusual, this makes the image outstanding, by all means the black background do add to the composition here and makes you main subject pop up so nicely.
Nice image and well captured sister, I did enjoy viewing it and thank you for sharing it with us, wishing you all of the best.
