Dear Luca, could be a self portrait or a look alike. Our eyes only cannot compare the similar and also conclude that artist and her creation would be the same person. We need to know more.

The lady on the wall could have worn a veil but that fact cannot be unveiled from this capture. And the eyes only do tell a lot but not everything.

Every one of them having a veil,if the question is who is wearing the veil.
And while the veil of the painted one can not be identified for sure,the veil of the painter can be easily identified,whether in light or shadows,simply by removing the veil from the face of the painted one.
This about mirrors.
