When it gets to images like this one, do technicalities mean anything? Is it sharp, focused? If it was, it probably wouldn't be a good photograph but if I have to like anything in particular I would say the daring and original crop. An excellent portrait my friend.

Dear Txules . (( what about composition, focus... many people critic my images saying nice postwork but not sure what that words mean am I wrong dear )). In spite of what you have said about this picture. I would like to say that I do not comment on any image if I liked were not right. There may be to communicate the spiritual in this type of business. And which is surreal. Whatever the right to say this person I love the picture, I often . 7/7 . Regards ..........

ok, first of all, I cannot say about others, I can say only about myself: I do not usually comment on photos that I consider bad to begin with, and improved by processing. I only comment on photos I really like, which is usually for two reasons: artistic and emotional (as you know). then I decide what is the best thing about the photo (and here, I mean both the original photo AND the presentation) which I like.
On this one, the point of shooting is good, concentrates on the ring and the dof creates the necessary parts of the composition that are required. but the processing here, I felt, really gave it the edge.. and that's what I feel you are good at (you can keep denying).
Now that is my honest feeling about this photograph. now decide whether I like the shot or not :)
cheers, Avi

An imaginatively composed, striking image which is futher enhanced by your creative PP work.If the basic image doesn't work no amount of PP work will convincingly rescue it.You have the eye to capture great shots and the intuition to creatively apply the PP to further your artistic interpretation of your subject. Un abrazo por otra gran obra!, tony.

Avi, when somebody said I'm a master in postprocessing some mixed feelings suddenly arise in me: first af all, it's not true, I use simple processing and third parts software that almost make everything but accepting i have some skills on postwork what bothers me is that seems that the original image is bad or at leat so-so and one can improve it a lot with an excellent postwork; look at this image for example, and forget the textures, blending, BW conversion etc do you think the image is bad? what about composition, focus... many people critic my images saying nice postwork but not sure what that words mean am I wrong dear Avi? thanks for your input, moves me to think btw, glad you are back :) jd
