Indeed it has much of that kind of grotesque look, Gustavo, of which you talk about. I think it looks like that because of the "spoiling of the untouchable", which is visible especially at the face of the baby - which by the way looks much like a puppet, or toy of you wish. Anyway, even seen as a pippet it does connect to small age in my mind and so in some way the contrast between being young and being dead works well for me. The coloring surely makes it even stronger in this sense but I think that the dirty and "sand" on the textures of its small overall is the key to this look. Much like after an explosion, the fire of which illuminates the "dead puppet".
The plasticity of it was preserved well despite the strong distortions, and so it still appears very real to me, which I think is why it appears also grotesque. If it was immediately recognizable as "impossible" then it wouldn't be so strange.

Efectivamente, pese al colorido intenso es una imagen muy grotesca y oscura, me cautivo de manera fundamentalmente emotiva, incluso tuve dificultades para titularla, porque no logré llevar (aún) a una idea racional, la sensación que me produce...
