The original is beautiful, just as I suspected. Really nice focus and lighting. What a privilege to have this in your garden. Thank you for the comment on my photo; I agree, the lighting on that one is terrible. Somebody suggested I should bracket the lighting, but, being a newbie, I have no idea what that means? Please take a look at my other pictures (there's only two of them) and let me know what I can do to improve.
I really like this digital effect. There are so many floral macros shots that are simply that - technically dry floral macro shots. This is very graphic, very designy, very creative. It would make a great fabric print, or other all-over pattern. I think it would be really cool to see this on packaging, too. I like the colors and composition, especially where the flower is placed. Nice.
I can't help but feel that the flower's natural beauty is lost in the digital effect. I'm sure the shot is beautiful in itself, and I would love to see it in its pure form. Nice angle and lighting. Very original.
