About OK I have adopted the the Muswellbrook & Districts Camera Club definition of photography as mine as well and that then includes photocopies into my artmaking "Any object or image made via the use of a lens and or on light sensitised material"
OK Step back in time 1988 to be exact.. I have just finished reorganising the storeroom I have gone through my early paintings collages etc thrown stuff out and photographed and catalogued the stuff.. I intend to whack some of em up here.

Untitled (Words Words) is a response to the death of our second son Cameron at 26 hours.

Size (1010X810mm) Underlying images is random typed text. Just blurring over the keyboard nothing specific just random typing then printing.. this is in the early days of computers remember then?? Overlaid are photo copies of photographs of my eldest son Lachlan up the back in the bush the day Lorraine went into premature labour with Cameron, and photos of the grey clouds that lurked about the day he was born.. I have a tradition of doing this.. Lorraine had crawled out to the car and started beeping the horn.. I heard it and thought something must be wrong I picked up Lachlan and ran, tore my T shirt going through the barbed wire fence (I have kept it to this day) we drove her to Newcastle to the Martyr Hospital.. she was stabilised and then they decided after a day or so to induce her.. Cameron was born with two multicystic kidneys.. a thing called Potters Syndrome and never was viable.. his short life contributed some research into the pretty rare condition.. I don’t know why I am telling you this.. but I guess its time

Rog:
I spent 36 years of my life in the business of infants like Cameron. My wife and I also lost a premature infant soon after birth. I can assure you that making the piece of art you made and giving the explanation you did on this post is about as healthy a thing as you could do. Believe it or not, I truly do understand what you went through and I understand how art can get us through bad times. God bless you my friend.

I see some some breaths some heart beats darkness quiet horn beeps alarm but also autistic faces holding their secrets was he such a stranger Rog?
Darkly reminded of our dreams for our children and their own identity, every dad has to seperate that out for every son (Riley's going through a barbie phase at the moment).
