Oh yes, there is much deposited mineral here, Stan! It is a strange conglomeration of just about anything.
I try to consider all aspects of a photograph to the same degree. Of course if some of those aspects are not as hood I stay on them for a while. And one of those aspects is also the presence or absence of details due to less appropriate exposure. In this case I think we can learn that the overall correct exposure doesn't automatically imply a correct exposure in all areas of the image. And from this point on we can proceed and conclude further.
Still I wish for a real "ultra-super-high" dynamics range film, that is. ;-)
Cheers!
Nick

Thanks a lot Saad!
Still the exposure exhibits areas of complete lack of detail, as the attachment in my message for Stan shows.
Cheers!

You are more detail oriented than I am. I kind of go for the overall tones and blends in a photograph. My monitor and eyes are old and sometimes what you might see I am missing. I thought maybe you were referring to the large area in the front center of the image. I thought it was probably some type of mineral deposit ie calcium, etc. Be well, Stan

Thanks a lot for that, Stan, but... uh..ooh! Look at those completely white areas I marked up with red on the attachment. All details unfortunately lost due to overexposure there. Those areas are small and mix up well with the rest of the image, camouflaging thus a bit of this weakness, but they are there.
OK, we don't want to end up by being the "ever unsatisfied perfectionists", ey? ;-)
Cheers!

Thanks a lot, Dave!
Well, some small parts are completely white and so I tip on overexposure.
Cheers!

Dear Nick, you are wrong. The exposure works just fine. I like the textures and the soft tones of this. Good idea for the abstract. I like the pieces of rock that are embedded in this. The link to my dedication to you, please enjoy! http://www.usefilm.com/Image.asp?ID=1475110 Be well, Stan
