....such is the story of Bodhidharma,the Buddhist monk traditionally credited as the transmitter of Chán to China. Zen is a school of Mahāyāna Buddhism, referred to in Chinese as Chan. Zen emphasises dharma practice and experiential wisdom, particularly as realized in the form of meditation known as 'zazen', in the attainment of awakening. As such, it de-emphasizes both theoretical knowledge and the study of religious texts in favor of direct, experiential realization.....thank you to my friend 'wiki' for this information and another friend who sent me back here for a while, today. for me, it is about a journey from another place into a world that siezes upon the moment and tries to catapult it into oblivion, then makes you work, against the odds, to capture it again, treasure it and realise that 'facts' and 'things' and 'past' and 'future' are it's enemies and.....oh, heavens above, there is a lady standing down in the street smoking, please, why do that?
