About Took this in the pitch black darkness. Nearly stood on it. When taking the shot, i only knew i had in the frame when the focus light beam shot out. Canetoads have poisonous glands behind there heads which can make dogs very sick if not die. Usually kill snakes with the poison. Crows have them figured out though. They roll them over before digging in for a feed.

Thankyou Michele. I suppose they could. Have to wash your hands pretty well straight after handling it. They can eat dry dog food. Had one jump at me when i was going for a run one night. I was about 3 feet away from this one laying on the grass getting bitten by bull or green ants. Not sure which. didnt look.Had to get the shot though lol. Hugs. Keith

Hi Gary. Still a fair way to go to your turf but they are out of control. They are probably 4-6 times bigger than a frog. They will eat dog food if you leave any outside. Ugly. Regards. Keith

WWWWWWWWWOOOOOOOOW what a shot in the pitch black dark - so focused and perfect really as if posing for you :))
Can they hurt people too with their poisonious glands - ? They probably could give you a good bite anyhow ?
They sound very scary to me - I would not like to be so near them - but them I am afraid of frogs and snakes anyway !

Excellent shot Keith as though this frog is on stage or something !! Big Hugs, Michele ~

I've never seen one of these but at the rate they're heading south they'll probably be on my old home turf in a few years. Pity the sharp spot's not on the face, but that belly's sure interesting, looks like an old cockie's neck!
Regards, Gary
