The 5D will give you a camera that photos can be enlarge greatly. Wonderful details can be brought up even with Large enlargements, and there is no crop advantage on your lenses 1.6x(Canon) or 1.5x (Nikon)which makes your 24mm equal to a 17mm on a crop. The disadvantages are that to have as much telephoto ability as the cropped cameras you must have a higher magnifications, and the detail ability means the better lenses must be used as the flaws of less expensive lens show.I had a Canon 30D but I sold it and now shoot only with the 5D. If you ever plan on selling photos, unless they are News or Sports, they will want the 5D or Canons 1D series size and quality. The 5D is affordable and easy to use for it's great results..............Rich

Yes, it is . The Canon 300mm f/4L IS has a 1+2 switch on it and 2 is for L to R or R to L. It has a stabilizer built in to correct motion....1 is for corecting up and down.

Wonderful image, both in content and technique. Colours are very rich and saturated, yet natural. Subjects synchronized as in a deliberate choreography; the diagonal stresses their descent (although in reality they may have been flying up and away--it doesn't matter, please don't tell me). On the technical side, I've been wondering about the benefits of a full-frame sensor (and about the EOS 5D in particular). Certainly greater DOF possibilities and a more natural image "geometry"; thanks for the answers. [By the bye, I'm sure you know what panning means.]
