The slightly misty foreground really lets the red of the poppies glow. They look almost 3-D jumping off the page. I want less sky in this shot though... I feel that the ruin and grass are the main points of focus and that a little bit of sky is nice but framed the way you have it you've given almost half of the image over to the sky.
I've taken to breathing on the lens as well to give an otherworldly feel to some of my images... it works very well!

A very well balanced composition with the striking poppies in the foreground and the house in the back plus a perfect sky...what a beautiful landscape this is!
