Location City -  Wadi Rum
State -  DESERT
Country - Jordan   Jordan
About Wadi Rum (Arabic: وادي رم) is a valley cut into the sandstone and granite rock in southwest Jordan. It is the largest wadi in Jordan. The name Rum most likely comes from an Aramaic root meaning 'high' or 'elevated'. To reflect its proper Arabic pronunciation, archaeologists transcribe it as Wadi Ramm.

Popular activities in the desert environment include camping under the stars, riding Arab horses, hiking and rock-climbing amongst the massive rock formations. Jabal Rum (1754 metres above sea level) is the second highest peak in Jordan and the highest peak in the central Rum, rising directly above Rum valley opposite Jebel um Ishrin, which is possibly one metre lower. The highest peak in Jordan is south of Rum close to the Saudi border. Named Jebel um Adaami it is 1840m high and was first located by Defallah Atieq, a Zalabia Bedouin from Rum. On a clear day, it is possible to see the Red Sea and the Saudi border from the top.

So very happy with your comment my dear Bobot,
I know the shot isnt really that sharp but distance and hazyness made it difficult to get it all clear, it was a huge area, no one around except for this camel caravan...:) Lucky for me!
It was very strange to be there, almost lonely
and lost feeling, it wasnt nice to stay there
for ages for sure!! Be well today, xxJen

You're so very kind my dear Ali, I thought it was quite impressive, also afterwards, quite lonely to be there in the middle with nothing around...just sand and rocks, the seeing this caravan, sign of life away from some flies...:))
Hugs Jenxx

Excellent photograph by you, Jen, I haven't seen another piece like it in your portfolio, very impressing results!
Cheers,
Harry
PS: You can try to crop just above the mountain shadow that will balance the composition also will enhance the looks of the caravan!!

We actually went to Jordan to get a drink after one year without booze. They do serve alc to foreigners. So we did have plans to visit Petra but we saw it later on a movie with indiana jones ;-)

So very happy you like it my sweet friend, like to know what you like on this one if you want to tell me;)))
Its funny how I start thinking back of thi strip beause of putting the shots here, it was a tough trip, and afterwards it could have been so much nicer and easier all the way, but still enjoyed it, so peaceful, the stars watching from the top of the car, memories...:)))
See you soon my dear, big hugs and kisses, Jenxx

It makes such a difference if these people travel to or from a market place to make their living or if they are privileged to travel and enjoy, making photos as popular activity. In deserts you'll find them all together.
Nice shot Jen, makes me aware of all kind of contrasts.

The colours looked outstanding, specially cleaning my ears, nose and hair...lolll Also the car and my cloths were getting more redish every day, but really worth it!!
I did not a cameltrip here, but did it in Egypt and Tunesia, but please dont mention it again, I wasnt a hero at all!!!!!:)))
Its a pity this shot isnt more clear and I didnt want to change i with sharpness and other ps, it was more important for me to show this scenery as it was...you really should go there one day my sweety!
Sleep well and have sweet dreams, kussssss Jenxx

Wasn't I lucky to see a place like this, Jordan is amazing for its culture and history! To stay in a place like this for some days, just peace and quiet, nothing around as mountains and sand,
could make you feel lonely and desolated, feeling happy to see just some camels....is this freedom or loneliness....the scenery was impressive!
Thanks for liking it and reading dear Paul,
hugs Jenxx

Looking back at this dear Nino, I would have liked to stay there longer, but it was very hot and lots of flies around in daytime, so staying there for a few days was enough;) Can you imagine laying on top of the car, looking at the stars, how wonderful this scenery was, nothing around you...quiet and just some camels passing....:))
Thanks my dear for your sweet comment, sleep well,
Jenxx

I felt so little and humble in this huge area of mountains and desert, so desolated from the rest
of the world, being happy to see these camels
walking somewhere deep down.... The colour was great, but not in your car and cloths:)) It was wonderful you just could camp there on top of your car, looking at the stars....I wonder who gave the plants water...loll
Sleep well my dear friend, Jenxx

Until it gets in your nose, ears and cloths its beautifil indeed my dear Rif;))
Not to talk about getting stuck in the soft sand,
which was just a great adventure in the middle of nowhere!
Had a nice day, hope you too,
be well and sweet dreams,
Big kiss and hugs, Jenxx

Impressive landscape... and the people - camels adds more here as they gives an idea about the size you cover with that photo... it's huge, hehehe... there are some plants too at the sand... the orange is very impressive, that gives a strong idea how the... planet Mars looks like...
be well Jen!

This was the most impressive desert I have seen on my way through Africa! To stand there with your car and just feeling like a little pin next to the mountains, even got stuck with the wheels in the sand and hoping someone could see us when not being able to get out! Also part of adventure of course;) No, its really not just camels and paople, but you did see them rarely so it was great to see something alive:))
Wishing you a good sleep and be well, big hugs Jenxx

We are certainly small compared to nature. You have shown that here my dear. Im happy you have though as it shows the inviroment that these people are in. I mean its not just a camel and people shot. Its there home as well. lol I know what i mean. I hope you know what i mean.:)) Great capture Jen. Hugs xxxx Keith:) :)
