I saw these as I was driving home and put on my 28-300 tele after I pulled off the road. Sat in truck for a few minutes and watched them eat and mill around for 10 minutes. I got out and they were ready to start moving on. I got about 30 shots but hand held was a detriment for quality. this one was one of the clearer one but still blurred. Lucky you with that bag of tricks, I just got a Rebel on a 6 mos. same as cash deal. All I can afford for now, but it is a start. Be well and work that 1d Mark 2!! Stan

i was in a situation with a deer over manitoulan island got my 600 mm lens on my canon 1 d mark 2. then i shouted he headed for the hills got a shot of him about 4 feet off the grouns at 8 frames per second got 64 shots. your image remoinded me of that shot

Dave, I actually caught several in flight but this was the best one. There were 6 small bucks in the heard of about 15. The others had already jumped and crossed the road. Thanks, Stan
