The tree is softened by focus indeed. I think I'll try to re-capture this one the more "classical" way, with only the tree in absolute DoF over a soft background. Let's see what it could look like then.

The white church does make the architecture of the tree stand out, Nick, and also places it in it's environment. I'd like to see a little more detail in the tree bark, though. Another interesting cityscape shot of your own home. Dave.
