Oh thank you dear Jen, and I am sorry to hear that about the arthritis, and so amazed with what you are doing in spite of it, what a great example you are. So many just give up, pain is hard to deal with, and I'm so glad you have your daughter and photography to keep you busy and motivated...:) Big hug!
Yeah good idea, the other side of the island it's only 35 miles across so I can be there in....LOL! Yes, there is poverty here as in all the islands, but there is a middle class and the elite as well. I'll write to you in the next few days and share more with you dear Jen...hugs and kisses to you! Good morning dear Linda, of course its mdnight there now, something like that;) Thanks you for being interested and being this kind, I noticed that at other replies as wel, you'r a wonderful dear woman! Of course you may know whats wrong, can also email me whenever you like, its on my profile;) I've got arthritis in a bad way, had many operations, as well as replaced joints in my wsists and partly ankle. Really having trouble with our humid climat! So thats the reason why I'm off very often to warm countries.. It also has this lucky side of being able to see more of the world..:))) How wonderful you just kind of 'landed' at Puerto Rico, must be quite a difference from Florida, but I heard its quite poor as well, is that right? I suppose you keep up the very good work of being a nurse there...woww!
So, one day you have to wake up at the other side of the island maybe to catch the sunrise...lolll I'd like to know how your island looks like, my son has been always interested in it, are you married and having children? Yes, health as they say is everything. I can't help but be curious about what is wrong dear Jen. Maybe it's the nurse in me. Well Puerto Rico is an island in the Caribbean (and a US Territory) which is bordered on one side by the Caribbean sea, and the other side by the Atlantic ocean...we are on the Atlantic side. The language spoken here is Spanish, English is taught here as well. It's a beautiful place, rich in culture and a warm and friendly people. I am not from here, but sailed over here 4 years ago from Florida, and gradually have made it my home. I am learning the language. We have sunsets, but they are rare, I don't know why that is...so I will just have to look at yours!! Big hugs to you dear!! Linda

Thank you so much dear Linda, how come you never see sunsets and rises, I must say I live in between a lot of houses, but I could go somewhere further down where there is a lake, and on a nice day I can see sunset as well:) But no, I don't live in Africa, wish I did!! Had a boyfriend there and many friends as well, also part of my family is living there, my dear old aunt loves it when I visit here, being the only familymember who ever visits her anyway, and she is 84 years.. Will go and visit them in June again with my daughter, who has never been there, hope she will like it just as I do...:) And yes it can any better, I wish I was healthy, but we can't have it all, isnt it;) Anyway it gives me an opportunity to travel, as I couldnt if I was working all the time....so every bad thing has its good sides as well;))) Will you tell me about Puerto Rico, thats seems like an interesting place, were you born there?? Well, I remember the scene at this bar, I would have loved just to sit there and watch! Zelfs een paar figuranten ontmoet, was grappig, die kregen 200 dollar voor een nacht, een kapitaal daar! Voor mij ook niet misselijk trouwens.....:) Dolblij waren ze, leuk te zien:)

I love these kinds of shots dear Jen, I'm always envious when I see them, I'd love to get this kind of shot, but we rarely see them here, well that and I am not keen on getting up too early. The light and colors are beautiful, the silhouettes are crisp, with great clarity, I like the darks which really add to the mood...a lovely lovely image!! Do you live in Africa? I'm sorry I can't help but wonder you seem to live an exciting life filled with travel and photography, can it get any better? A great job with this dear...big hugs!!

I was there 1 1/2 year ago, coming from Joburg by bus, first to Swaziland then to Moz, I didnt stay there as well, just in hostels, farrrr to expensive! Got some more pics of the hotel and Maputu, but then rather show them by email, I felt like a dirty princess there...loll Sleep well, Jenxx

I've benn to Mozambique 1n 1998, travelling by bus and train, a hard yet fascinating trip; love specially Ibo island in the north; The Polana hotes was great for a drink but very expesive for staying;

Was that the 5 ***** hotel with the big pool? That one I have been for some drinks too, a friend of mine was the pianoplayer there, we had great fun me pretending to sing..loll I didn't stay there, just in a hostel:)) The condom sign shot is from there as well..when were you there? xxJen

Hi Jen.. thanks for that, maybe the adjustment may not be at the photo but maybe your point of view or angle when you took the picture. For me I would like to concentrate the focus of attention on those three light stand which were pointing at the sun. which I think was also the reason you took this photo.. : )

Looks like those lamps are illuminating the sun.. very good find I like the relationship between the position of the light statue and the sun.. good eye to spot this.. a little refinement in the composition maybe.. but it's alright as it is..

You should give it a try AJ, shots come out very different at sunrises.....to catch buses while travelling, or sleeping in tents, getting up by the heat, there is no other way then getting up very early...Schools and work start early too, so Africa wouldnt be the right place for you maybe;)) xxJen

I don't like sunrises - they mostly happen far too early in the day. So I have to reply on people like you to show me what they are like. Now, if we could have them in the middle of the day...
