On my daily walks I tend to take advantage of the resting spots along the way, I looked down and saw this lone leaf in the final stages of decay and just snapped it. I thought the result was interesting.
Really like the lighting, colors, clarity, and details. The contrast between the grainlines and the smooth-tentured boards and the wrinkled, holey, multi-colored, and diverse diagonal veins of the leaf is very pleasing - and you are correct - very interesting. Even though the leaf is old and wrinkled with visable flaws, it is still beautiful in its own way. (Kinda like people as they age, huh?)
The more centered composition really works well in this shot. The hints of other dead vegitation peaking through the boards gives you a clue as to the eventual fate of this lone survivor of a tree's lush summer canopy. Thanks for sharing. Jan
