I find the rich dark colors of the reduced palette perfect for enhancement of the shapes and forms, Ian. In a way abstract but also with a quite "scientific" look - a contour plot of some property of a system, or a plot of some 2D-sequence with its orbits. The grain-like look adds much power to it. And the two regions without much of an "inner life" balance the action with standstill very well too.

An image thgat one can just look for a long time, trying to find patterns, rules, whatever.
