About The sun really looked like a p-orbital and I tried to get it as diffuse as a wave function is represented visually in many textbooks of quantum mechanics. But also outside the scientific resemblance it made up an acceptable minimalistic abstract to post. I'd be glad for any comments.

Which lets me assume that the manipulated image was OK.

Best wishes,

Thank you very much for the nice comment, Txules, and above all for the suggestion! Now that you say, it gets on my "visual way" too!

So, I attach the image with the gray dot cloned off as well as I could do. I hope it got better?

Cheers,

Nick

Cloned off gray dot near the sun according to Txules' suggestion

Thank you very very much, Fabio! I didn't think of it as an image of winter solstice but now that you say, I realize that it does have something that makes me think of it - perhaps that kind of twilight that is no day and no night.

Many thanks for the input,

Nick

Hi Paul and thanks a lot for the nice comment!

Indeed it's too abstract to most viewers but... I couldn't resist naming it this way. OK, too much QM in that mind ;-)

But having once seen such images like:

http://bp0.blogger.com/_I-n4UWp0ZqM/RwuHt2cIoMI/AAAAAAAAAH8/6GD8J2-lgN8/s1600-h/p+orbital.png

one might tend to see wave functions everywhere. Actually it has been the missing sharp boundaries of that sight, that made me think of the similarity to such an orbital and the non-infinitesimal probability to catch the electron even at the end of this universe.

Thanks once again and have a nice weekend,

Nick

Casi abstracta, una visión misteriosa y fantástica...Bravo!, me encantó esta serie.

fantastic concept, love the softness, warm colors and the central position of the sun, a very pleasant image. I'd just tone dodge/clone the grey dot near the sun because draw my view; anyway a very fine piece....txules

Bella. Quasi astratta. Complimenti.

Nice abstract with good difused colours and a simple composition. You have done well to control the expoure shooting into the sun, which is quite difficult to achieve.

I can see a vague P(y) but it's a concept too abstract for most casual viewers.

Best wishes for the season.
