About Some old and dried out flower in the year of who knows when. But it got quite interesting to me and so I post it in the hope to read some comments/critiques about it.

Even science can't be perfect, Avi! Since Goedel we know this. It's a proven theorem that proves the impossibility of anything perfect.

Many might find that obscure or even frightening in some way, but is is a blessing in diguise, since in its inner sense it says that the truth is a stronger notion than the proof of the truth. So, there exist statements of which we *know* that they are true, but we also at the same time *know* that they are unprovable!

And so not only does art begins where science ends, but also science begins where art ends, depending on... the direction from which one passes the boundaries - *if* of course ther is any boundary at all.

Cheers to you, Avi!

Oh absoultely !!.. perfection is science (well, most of it).. imperfection is art. And didn't they say that art begins where science ends ??

Cheers !!

So, it's again the little introduced imprefection, I guess, that makes the image complete, Avi?

It is very interestig to see that we have mainly two diametrically opposed opinions. The one says "all must be perfect", the other says "there has to be imperfection too". It sounds as if these two ways would be contradicting each other, but the more I think, the more I find out that they don't.

Could it be that "perfection" itself, is not as perfect as one might think? I find this a very interesting question though I still seem to stick in a more traditional kind of perfectionism...

Cheers,

Nick

On the contrary, I like it THIS way.. the little bit of stem that is NOT there, completes the picture !

Thank you veryy very much for that great compliment, Avi!

I would rather keep the whole dried out orchid on image, but I guess that you don't consider it to be a serious minus this way?

Cheers,

Nick

Exactamente esto es lo que me parece demasiado, Alicia! I debe incluir todo el secado de orquídeas en la imagen. ¡Muchas gracias por el comentario bonito y todavía más por la idea!

But the composition should include the whole dried out orchid, shouldn't it, Gustavo?

Many many thanks for the nice comment!

Cheers,

Nick

Thank you very much again for the nice comment, Dave! I only wish that the whole of the dried out orchid would be on image.

Cheers,

Nick

This was not winter, Fabio, but does it really look like that? I find that very interesting since for me it is just white. Of course I can't have a really unconnected view of it, simply because I was there, and so I can't just "delete" my own memory. And so it is interesting to have some more impression about creating a winter look and feel.

Indeed the cut petals at the left are a problem to me too. I wish I would have included them in the image.

Cheers and thank you very much!

Junto con las flores ajadas va muy bien el sepia, realza la imagen!
La próxima un poco más a la derecha y no cortas el pétalo si?
Me encanta!
Felicitaciones!!!

Muy buena, aquí el fondo colabora magistralmente en la composición.
Excelente trabajo!

all the subtle atmosphere of a winter still condensed(just the cropping of the petals on the left is disturbing, imho:))
