Hey Nicki !!! so happy to hear from You --so it is a seminar you are at- this can be fun (or boring :((- but hopefully FUN}
Can You beleive this crazy weatheer ????
We are lucky , so very lucky not to have trees fall into our house + not to have flooding as others do ...we have plenty of tree's down but they missed the house, and we are on a hill so we just sat in the house listening to a transister radio and watching the storm until we went to my sisters as she had power in another town...
It is enough as I left Fl. because of the huricannes now we get them here last year and this year already - ufff!!!
I don't know what is happening to our global weather as it is crazy everywhere...but I am happy You and my dear UF friends are alright :-))

Hi my dear Michelle.....I'm happy that you are posted this picture,so I know that you are ok!!! What is with your house,nothing damaged?? The weather is crazy in every country,we have only rain and big storms too.Not so bad ones as in your country but anyway for us it's already enough.Your pictures looks quiet now after the storm but the color is still a bit minatory!!!
I'm still busy until next week,I'm in seminar and I have a break,wanted to look after the pictures what my friends have posted:))

Hi Annemette,
Yep we made it thru the storm alright..a bit shakey and scared but much better than some others who lost their homes..we just lost power and several trees! One tree is has a root system of about a 7 foot radius !!!!
All is a mess but on the road to recovery and it's not even winter yet !
Fortunately we did not have any floods but several around us did:((
Thank You for caring and checking in my dear...I have not been able to check on anyones images yet as I just got back online yesterday and so much to do ...but I am on my way there soon too ...Oh yeah but I could find time to post an image - LOL !!!!!!

Oh my! Did you get through it alright? I checked Lincoln city on Google Earth and it really lies just by the ocean. Did you experience floods? Yes, the ocean can be so harmless looking but even on normal days us living by the sea know to take care and respect it.

Yes the storm actually got national news altho I know many did not hear about it ...
lately we are having more and more huricannes ..catching up with Florida ..and it is very scary ...
You forget all the things that power does for us..EVERYTHING - Lol !!
All the power of Mother Nature..
I wanted to take pictures but still not ready to show the destruction as it is not a pretty sight and somehow seems a bit dis-respectful if that makes any sense(?))

Thanks for your thanks, Michele! I do often wonder about making a critique, and sometimes feel mean afterwards if I've pointed something out. But I still regard UF as predominantly a critique site, rather than a showcase. Many comments others have made on my shots have alerted me to things I should have spotted myself, and I think I probably do spot a lot more things myself now, thanks to their observations.

Thank You for the kind precautions about re-entering the house after a storm like we had..but things can always be worse...I do know what You mean tho and clean up is also 'no fun' - lol ..
We were very lucky compared to many others who did loose their homes because of flooding , etc. It is sad, sort of like when 'Katrina' hit New Orleans .. The weather is soooo crazy this past year .. hardly no summer and we are definitely into winter so early ...

Nice shot. I hadn't heard about the storm. I trust that you came through it without serious damage. The shot taken at some distance from the water and from behind the safety of a bush imparts a certain fear or respect for the ocean and the weather which goes nicely with the situation and your title.

Damage to your home can have a dramatic emotional impact, and it's best to have a plan before the storm strikes for how to reenter your home. Having a plan, and being aware of certain risks, will minimize the threat of harm to you or your family.

Three days after? It still looks pretty ominous out there! (Though there are some fine waves rolling in...)
The sun seems to be just about pushing through the clouds, casting a very strange but appealing light across the scene. It strikes me as something of a cross between watery sunlight and the light of a full moon.
(Did you spot that you had a slight tilt on the horizon? Oh, and a spot on the horizon as well, on the left? Maybe a dried water drop or dust spot...)
