About On the set of Poison Wind, a movie based on the uranium mining of the past in my town. With no concern for the safety of the miners, towns people or the environment, the effects have resulted in serious health problems of many.

Here, actor Peter Leyba portrays a miner on the set. I was hired as the still photographer for the production which finished filming this weekend.

My shots will be used for trailers, posters and for application to film festivals including Tribeca in NYC.

Hi Paul. I believe CS2 does have the tone mapping ability but I know nothing about that, I don't have it. I use Photomatix. I did a tutorial on HDR but mostly it is what I learned about taking the photos. It only touches a little on the tome mapping part. When I wrote that, I had only used the program for about a week.

You can find the tutorial here: http://www.usefilm.com/Photo_Forum/17/1013616/

Good luck with it, it does take a bit of playing with it to get used to the procedure.

Hey dave thanks for your reply. I have just started to work with HDR images and I see so many now that are so cool looking and Im not getting anything like that with just HDR so Im wondering, It must be the tone mapping???
They have like a painting effect. I bought the new paint shop pro photo X2 program just for the HDR. Have you ever used that? What is tone mapping anyways. Love to understand
more about it and getting the effect Im seeing.
If you know anything about the PSP photo X2 and if there is that tone mapping I would appreciate any help you could give me.....
Thanks very much......

Paul

This is a sad story the world over, with coal mining in Wales and asbestos mining in Australia as examples from my own experience. You should be proud to have played a part. I hope the film does well and highlights the issue.
Regards, Gary
