Congratulations Gary. You are right. This was a mushroom/fungi found in Sinharaja rain forest. The cropped image was resembling the rings of the saturn, at least for me. :) This is the original image.

Hi Jim, Thanks for the reply. I intentionally removed the details regarding the camera and lens cos that would give it away. :) Just wanted to see what others see through this photo. Will post the answer in coupe of days. :)

You don't give us any clues about what camera and lens you used but I'll guess it's an extreme closeup of a fingertip.
