superb use of field of focus and it makes a good abstract.

Beautiful image Ann. Marvellous detail on the front bird and the fact that there's really only three colours here draws attention straight to their eyes. The square format suits too.

Thanks AJ. Took me ages to get the shot lined up the way I wanted. Everytime I was about to shoot one of the birds would move it's head. One even got up and walked away. Eventually I found a cooperative pair.:)

Fabulous close-up shot, with superb detail. I also like the "echo" of the blurred bird in the background.

Hi Ann,
I remember this serie from an image of yours that was awarded BIP. that one i like better for particular reasons, but this one is lacking nothing. the composition is outstanding, technically there is no imperfection and everything is so smartly arranged...
i mean what can i say, only that the serie of these birds is extraordinary!
keep it up,
V.

Thank you for your comments, Gasper. The background was naturally dark, but I darkened it more with the burn tool to keep attention on the birds.

Hello there!
This photo is a piece of art. DOF si very cleverly arranged. Also the tight crop fits the photo perfectly. What really bugs me about this photo is this blackness between the birds. It looks artificial. Maybe it isn't but the edges are quite suspicious... no offence :)
