About Another try on the haze and this time also using softer focus to enhance its presence by rather weak contours. Any comments would be very welcome.

OK, thanks a lot for the hints, Gustavo! I just can't find the right angle but I try some values for rotation and see if I get it right.

Cheers,

Nick

Yes, I see! Thanks a lot for the work, Gustavo! Was that only rotating and cutting a rectangular frame? If so, then how many degrees?

Cheers,

Nick

Nick

Thanks a lot for the nice comment, Vandy!

It might be a bit too soft for me too. Trying to enhance the haze by softer focus, you see, but I also wonder if I took it too far.

Cheers,

Nick

Cloned off spot at the bottom left, and square box and sign in the middle after Joggie's idea

Hi Joggie, and thanks a lot for the very nice and detailed comment. Following your suggestion I cloned the disturbing things off (oh well, sorta! ;-)) I think too that they made they image too full of unnecessary things.

I am a purist indeed and prefer to work with camera/lens, at least until I completely master it, but such manipulations in PS are good in a retro-engineering sense. They show me what I should have done better when I was shooting. In this case the sign and the box could not have been avoid but the spot on the bottom right could have been left out with really not much effort.

Thanks a lot for your suggestions that helped me see some things more clearly!

Pleasant and peacefully landscape. A bit too soft for my taste. Nice composition, though.

Hi Nick
I like the mood that is instilled by this image - one of warmth and tranquility and somehow of distant memories. Maybe it is the soft focus and slight haze that helped create this. I also like the depth created by the repeating horisontal layers. For critique I look at the foreground again and the bright spot bottom right really draws the eye away from a beautiful scene. The circular sign and the square box in the middle also clutter up the scene a bit (if you are not a purist you can clone these out in PS). All in all a great image, lovely to look at and I am sure the original is even better. Kind regards.
Joggie
