I guess, if it were not monochrome its effect wouldn't be even half as strong as it is now. A very strong atmosphere of a day "after the end of times" is present here, and the buildings at the depth seem to be some silent witnesses of something that happened and because of which the human presence is missing.
For the technical part, the DoF is limitless and supports very well the clear view of the scene. The difference of luminance (very strong light in the foreground and a loaded darkness in the background) matches also the surreal attitude of the image.
Very nice work, keep it up!

Amazing colors... it's OK the grey versions however (just a personal favore taste) is the blue photos of yours, really amazing, and in IR they looks even better, great that too Robert!!!
