Thanks Tim! The photomatix plug is available from http://www.hdrsoft.com/. It is useful for extracting shadow detail but mostly intented for multiple exposures HDR.

You did a very good job here, Eb! The angle is good and the clarity of details fantastic!In spite of the dark sky, there is some subtle backlight that bathes the area and sharpens the objects!I like it very much!

Comparing the two of them, I can see this one is slightly brighter with definitely more detail in the shadowed foreground of the dock, while still retaining the dark and foreboding sky. Your technique has worked very well here, Eb!

I compared both images and I have to say I prefer this one. Some of the colors are a little brighter and more refined. Thanks for the re-post and description. Well done.
