Welcome Patrick! Thanks for the reply, I was afraid I was coming from left field a bit there, but it's definitely a strong link for me. Am slowly working through your photos but trying to be quiet. So much to learn from it perhaps and such effortless drama.

Thanks so much, Ian! Yes, the great Mr Hopper... he has long been one of my favourite artists. When I was studying photography at college a couple of years ago I submitted a photograph as part of a project that many people regarded as 'Hopperesque'. Whilst I never try to ape another photograper or artist's 'style', one's influences cannot help but show through sometimes, and to be mentioned in the same sentence as him is a great compliment.

I love shadows, here you gave POWER to your target, amazing result as you frame bothly the metalic bars of that and its shadow in a unique composition, yea, excellent photographer's eye, it's that I say everything around us have a great point of view to be a great shot, excellent. Best regards!

The shadow struck me first but what wonderfull cobbles and stones. Ohh that spiral! I was going to say the stones were the main subject for me(glow, zen in britain, I am afraid I would slip on them), but then I see the link you've created between the rail (guess I need to hang on to that) and that resurfaced patch in the road, that's when that whole spiral thingy appears. Ooo man maybe it'll be a night to remember. Guess my attention spiralled a bit there from shadow to stones to shadow again. As `a thumb it didn't grab me, but when an image can take you through such levels it's truly memorable. Pardon the stream of consciousness structural thought is quite beyond me and I can only try to follow my eyes round. But maybe I'll learn something here, thanks for sharing this. Final thought, I'm reminded of an old favourite by Edward Hopper. This has always intrigued me as being so wrong and distorted, but I did the geometry on it once and it stacks up. What that guy could do with a camera I wonder.
