About Another of those "uncomfortable" ines, you know, a bit more of this and a bitless of that, and after so many crios and rotations and whatsoever, I am just not able to get it better, though it does have something special for me.

Any comments and suggestions would be very highly appreciated.

Doyle, thanks a lot for the nice and very detailed comment, that really helps me see some things clearer than I did up to now. Indeed, I see now the meaning of the right side. Just like a glance that allows to make a distinction between a flat object and some kind of "cube", right?

As about the T/S... sigh! ;-)

Best wishes and above all my deepest thanks to all of you guys that made UF be up and running again! That was hard work! Thank you all!

Tough one in the best of circumstances but, as you say, T/S costs are . . . uhhhh . . . ouch. I like the posted version over any of the suggested crops myself. The right side in the shot seems to make it easier for the eye to properly orient the image and the facing on that side is not distracting at all. You have some very good detail here which conveys the texture of the facings very well. I'd say you did a pretty darn good job all in all . . . and I like the image with the pale sky also contributing a Winter feel to it. Leave it as is, if you ask me. It's good!

Doyle I <~~~~~

And it indeed seems to me that your eyes do perceive the importnat things, Ahmed! I also like that cropping very much.

Best wishes,

Nick

Hi Nick, I really do like this crop and I think this goes well with the image. I do not have any experience on this, I am just saying based on how it pleases my eye. I liked your shot here!

Thanks a lot for the comment and the suggestion, Ahmed! so you go the diametrically opposite way from Dave, and that's quite interesting.

I attach the crop - what do you think? Your crop seems to retain more of the perpective and be less tight than Dave's.

Thanks again,

Nick

Crooped off some of the right side after Ahmed's idea

Ahmed Ismail Ahmed Ismail   {K:19853} 7/28/2007
Nice details and good capture of this interesting clock! Beautiful!
I like the composition you have gone in the post here. I think I would only crop a little off the right to remove the side view of the clock on the otherside.

Thank you very much for your time to look at it and your suggestion, Dave. If I only had a T/S! But they are sinnfully expensive for me! So while a save money for such a treasure let me crop off some of the left side for hiding the "wrong" lines. The attachment does look more correct regarding geometry, but it is also too tight for me.

I think that I should stand a bit further away, or use a not so close zoom.

Best wishes, and thanks again.

Cropped off left side according to Dave's idea

It's tough shooting an object like this from the ground Nick, when you can't get straight lines. You've done a good job here, though, and I like the detail and textures you've got on the clock and tower. Possible a crop up to the left side of the tower might help.
Dave.
